Why Are “Spring Breakers” Being Described As Prudish This Year?
College students on Spring Break are supposedly behaving better than past generations, and it’s all thanks to social networking.
Sites like Facebook and YouTube have spring breakers controlling themselves out of fear of what might end up on the Internet.
They also don’t want to get tagged in an embarrassing photo on someone else’s Facebook page. So they’re partying more cautiously.
Margaret Donnelly is a veteran bartender in Key West, and she says, “They’re very prudish. Ten years ago, people were doing filthy, filthy things, but it wasn’t posted on Facebook.”
Has the one thing that most students say they couldn’t live without, ruined the one thing that most students live for?
