7-Eleven has been working with Saginaw's local law enforcement for over 26 years and their most successful outreach program "Operation Chill" is an awesome way for officers to interact with youth!

How? By giving officers free Slurpee coupons that in turn get's handed out to good kids within the Saginaw community. This is a great idea! Now if we could do this on an international level, we could literally end all wars, one Slurpee at a time.

Operation Chill is a way for police departments to engage with the young community by rewarding them for good deeds, constructive activities and acts of kindness

"Now in its 26th year, it's no surprise that Operation Chill continues to be our most popular community outreach program," said 7Eleven President and CEO Joe DePinto. "A free Slurpee drink coupon provides officers an easy and approachable way to connect and engage with kids. These positive interactions between officers and youth are key to helping law enforcement agencies build bridges and create long-term relationships within their local communities."

The coupons handed out are redeemable for one small Slurpee at any 7-Eleven location. Sadly, Flint no longer has a 7-Eleven location so you're a bit out of luck. But that doesn't mean we can't find a solution ourselves. All it takes is one local vendor or restaurant to copy this idea and start sharing the love in Flint! And in turn, it would be an awesome way to bridge the gap between Flint youth and law enforcement.

I really hope someone in the Flint area copies this and starts to implement it soon. It's an awesome marketing idea.
