"The Dark Knight" shooter sent his killing plan to a psychiatrist according to new reports.

James Holmes sent a notebook with details on his shooting spree to a psychiatrist ahead of time.

Unfortunately, it wasn't discovered until Monday. Some reports say the package sat unopened in a mailroom at the University of Colorado for about a week. Another report says the package was delivered on Monday. Either way, the shrink didn't see it until Monday.

A source said: "Inside the package was a notebook full of details about how he was going to kill people. There were drawings of what he was going to do in it—drawings and illustrations of the massacre."

No word on why Holmes would have sent the notebook to that particular psychiatrist.

Apparently, James Holmes has been asking jail employees how the "Dark Knight Rises" ends.

According to the Huffington Post, he asked one worker: "Did you see the movie? How does it end?"

Another worker said Holmes "was trying to look like he was sincerely curious."

The 24-year-old shooter saw the first half hour of the movie before allegedly leaving to go out to his car and returning in full body armor and armed with three guns.
