Celebrities Lost A Lot of Instagram Followers After Spam Account Purge

The Instagram purge hit all profiles and now we know of a couple celebrities who were affected by the clean up. Personally, I lost a little over 100 followers. Oh well. 

Instagram warned user about the upcoming purge and they came through on their promise. The purge deleted spammy and non-active accounts. Check out how many followers your favorite celebrities lost.

• Rihanna - over 1 million followers
• Kim Kardashian - over 1 million followers
• Ma$e - over 1 million followers
• Draya Michelle - 300,000 followers
• Oprah Winfrey - 100,000 followers

I hope that Twitter will follow suit with a follower purge because I know several people are inflated. I never understood the value in buying social media followers. Can you help me understand the reason behind it?
