Detroit To Launch First Public Bike System In May
The new bike share system "MoGo" will launch in late May and will be the city's first ever public bicycle rental system.
Detroit is growing more and more every year, including an all new bike sharing system that will launch in May called MoGo. MoGo is simple, customers can approach the station kiosks, insert a debit card, and then will receive a code to unlike a MoGo bike. After unlocking the the bike a green light will turn on. Reurning the bike is just as simple as customers simply insert the wheel back onto the station bike lock.
Passes start at $8 for a daily pass, $18 for a monthly pass, and $80 for an annual pass. The bikes are meant to be used for 30-minute intervals. If the customer exceeds the half-hour limit they will be charged anywhere from $2 to $4 for each 30 minutes they go over. Customers that lose their MoGo bike will result in a $1200 charge.
MoGo will have 43 stations all across Detroit and a total of 430 bikes. On the company's website you can learn how the system works, check out the map, and buy passes. Click here for more information.
