Extreme Wind Partially Blows Roof Off Birch Run School

How windy was it today in Mid Michigan?  Ask the students and staff at Birch Run High School.

High winds tore off a section of the the auxiliary gym roof this afternoon, but the school was quick to assure the public that no one was hurt.  They posted a picture of the gym roof on their Facebook page, along with a brief description of what happened.

The good news is that the roof is slated to be repaired tomorrow, and nobody was near the debris that flew off of the roof.

There are still thousands of people in Mid Michigan without power right now due to the extremely windy conditions.

Please be sure to notify your power company if you notice a downed power line, and under no circumstances should you try to approach the line.
