Here's something you don't see every day.

Earlier today I received a text message with a link to a domestic violence story in Fenton, Michigan. As I rubbed my eyes to begin looking at it, I had to stop myself and make sure I was actually awake. What I read was not computing in my brain that early in the morning.

On Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, the Genesee County Sheriff's Office received a call about a domestic disturbance in progress. Once deputies arrived at the Fenton Township home around 6 pm, they found that the 59-year-old man that assaulted his 51-year-old girlfriend had already left the scene in a pickup truck. Deputies noted that they observed redness on the left side of the victim's face.

Here is where the story gets weird. Allegedly, the man had ordered subs to be delivered to the pair's home. One was steak and cheese and the other was a tuna sub. The woman, who is allergic to tuna fish observed the man eating the steak and cheese sub. The woman then confronted her boyfriend after being upset that he was eating her sub. After the confrontation, the man walked into the room where she was and slapped her in the face with the footlong tuna fish submarine sammich.

After a quick search, sheriff's deputies were able to locate the pickup truck and spoke with the man. After he confirmed what happened, he was arrested and taken to the Genesee County Jail for domestic violence.

Honestly, I'm still processing this whole story so talk amongst yourselves.
