Flint is a true basketball town, and tonight the Flint United bring professional basketball back to Flint.

The Flint United are the newest team in The Basketball League, and after months of anticipation the team is ready to hit the floor tonight. We've all been excited about the prospect of pro ball coming back to Flint, and the United are living up to the hype. Despite losing their first two games of the season, the United are ready to make a statement at home tonight against the division leading Indy Express.

The Flint United are playing at the Dort Financial Center, and they will host two games this weekend. The first is tonight against the Indy Express at 7pm. The United will also host the Detroit Hustle at 7pm. You can get tickets to both games here.

We were lucky enough to have Flint United owner, Kevin Mays on the phone with us this morning to talk about opening night in Flint. Mays touched on the fact that Flint was, is, and always will be a basketball town. He also talked about how important it is to have some pillars of Flint basketball representing the team. That's why it's such a huge deal to have Charlie Bell coaching the team in their inaugural season. You can listen to the entire interview below.

I'm geeked up for the return of pro basketball to Flint, and can't wait to see the team this weekend. The games are very fast paced, and feature some phenomenal athletes. If you're looking for something to do with the family this weekend, you should check it out.
