Flint Rapper '1000 (formerly 1000 Bars) teamed up with author/director JaQuavis Coleman for his new 'Life Of A DopeBoy' project.  The two Flint natives use that art's that they know best to break down some of Flint's biggest problems at their core.

JaQuavis Colemanis half of the husband and wife author duo from flint that were recently signed to 'Cash Money Content'. JaQuavis has two movies being shot this summer based from his books, and one is a major motion picture. He also has a pilot with HBO in the works that could debut sometime this year. 1000 working on 'Major without a Major' coming this Spring. He's also landed a role in 'Birds of a Feather' with super producer Zaytoven, featuring Gucci Mane & several other artists.

The combination of art, music and storytelling that '1000' and Jaquavis bring to 'Life of a DopeBoy' paints a harsh reality for young people in Flint.  Drugs and crime provide the real life role models that many of our city's youth look up to, leading to more violence in an already dangerous place.

Flint tied it's own records for homicide's in 2012, and this year has already seen one of the most heinous crimes yet as a man was gunned down in a church.  When asking how crime can be such a huge factor in Flint, people should listen to the message spit by '1000'.  'Life of a DopeBoy' is not condoning the violence, but tells a real version of why things are the way they are in our city.

'Life of a DopeBoy' will have a short film version as well as a standard music video version, and the song will be featured on the 'All In' street album.
