Video games sure have come a long way since I was a kid playing Pong at my friend Alan's house. As you can see from the screen, there wasn't much to the game but at that time it was the coolest.

Then the Atari home gaming system came out and we could play Space Invaders, Missle Command, Frogger and so many more. They were exciting times and video games are even more exciting than ever.

Now kids and adults have the luxury of virtual reality games and being able to play online with friends with some of the coolest graphics ever. So, what are the most popular games today here in Michigan?

I am still blown away by the appeal of Minecraft. I have played it with my son, watched his older brother play it for years, and still don't get it but they love it. Minecraft came out in 2011 and remains a top 5 and for Michiganders, it comes in at number 4.

I certainly have bought my share of V-Bucks for my son to play Fortnite. He loves this game. Every time I think he is ready to move on from it Fortnite comes out with something new and it pulls him right back in. The Last of Us looks really cool. This is a game I am unfamiliar with since I haven't heard my son comment on it but even if he doesn't play it, I am sure his older brother does. Ever since HBO adapted the video for TV the game's popularity has shot through the roof and lands at number 2 on Michigan's top 5 video games list.
