Police Warn of Fake Art and Music Festival in Birmingham
Police in Birmingham are warning residents and vendors about a fake festival being advertised on social media, meant to screw people over and scam them out of a bunch of money.
Birmingham Police Warn About Fake Festival Scam
According to the Birmingham Police Department, an ad has been circulating for something called the Birmingham Art and Music Festival, supposedly scheduled for May 15 through May 17 at Shain Park.
The problem is simple. There is no festival. It is a total scam.
Police say the fake event appears to have been created to scam vendors out of registration fees and other payments. In a statement posted to Facebook, the department said someone “created a fictitious festival in order to fraudulently obtain money from vendors.”

You have to admit, these lowlife scammers are finding new ways to rip people off every single day.
Anyone who may have sent money related to this fake festival is urged to contact the Birmingham Police Department at 248-530-1870.
To clear up any confusion, Birmingham does host a legitimate art event, just not the one being advertised. The 45th Annual Art Birmingham is scheduled for May 9 and 10 at Shain Park in downtown Birmingham. That one is legit. The other, not so much.

If you see ads for a Birmingham art and music festival scheduled for May 15 through 17, don’t engage. Police say it’s a scam. Don’t fall for it.
