Independence Market By Meijer: Now Open In Clarkston

A new Meijer store has officially opened in Clarkston.

The store is located at 5820 Waldon Road in Clarkston and opened for business today, Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, at 7:00 AM.

This Oakland County Meijer will be a scaled-down version of the store, often called a 'footprint' store. The new 50,000 square foot store is called Independence Market.

Guests can expect a diverse selection of groceries, featuring Meijer brand products and items from local suppliers. Additionally, the store will offer a floral center, pet supplies, and beauty and healthcare products.

The new store will also feature a cafe, with food and beverage options from Honcho Latin Street Food & Coffee, also located in Clarkston.

The grand opening will include food samples from local vendors and more. You can find the event page here.

I am very excited about the new mini-Meijer. I appreciate the option to buy locally sourced products, and Honcho in-house is also a great bonus!
