When it comes to planetariums, most people you ask just assume that the largest one would be located in a big metropolitan area. Even though you can find planetariums in cities like Detroit, Grand Rapids, and East Lansing, the largest one in the state is actually in a place you wouldn't expect.

Where is Michigan's Largest Planetarium Located?

Despite being more known for its' Water Crisis, Flint is actually home to the largest planetarium in Michigan. The Longway Planetarium is located on the campus of the Flint Cultural Center and truly is a hidden gem in Michigan. Featuring the new Digistar 7 Technology, this state-of-the-art planetarium features classic rock light shows, hands-on learning experiences, STEM topics, and more for both community and school groups.

Upcoming shows include the Ooky Spooky Light Show on Halloween to wrap up October. In November, guests will be able to check out shows like Skies Over Michigan, Dinosaurs of Antarctica, Queen: From Mercury With Love, and more. Click here to see all the upcoming shows.

The best part is that the shows at Longway Planetarium are super affordable. Tickets are just $7 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $5 for kids ages 2-11. On top of that, Genesee County residents get 50% off the ticket prices listed above. Veterans, military families, teachers, and children 1 and under are free.
