
Deadly I-96 Shooting Shuts Down Detroit Freeway Overnight
If you drove through Metro Detroit this morning, you may have noticed traffic moving a little slower on I-96. It all stemmed from a deadly overnight shooting that's now under investigation by Michigan State Police.
One Person Killed, Two Others Hospitalized on I-96
A deadly shooting on Interstate 96 in Detroit has left one person dead and two others hospitalized.

Michigan State Police say troopers were called just before 1:00 this morning after reports of shots being fired along eastbound I-96 near Bentler Street on Detroit's west side.
Eastbound I-96 Reopened After Overnight Investigation
When they arrived, investigators found that three people riding in the same vehicle had been struck by gunfire. One of those victims died at the scene, while the other two were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The eastbound local lanes near West Outer Drive were temporarily shut down while detectives processed the scene, but they've since reopened according to The Detroit News.
Investigators Say I-96 Shooting Appears to Be Isolated
At this point, investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and say there is no ongoing threat to the public. No information about possible suspects or what led to the gunfire has been released.

Michigan State Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has information to come forward.
