Michigan's Brayden Lape is a pretty big deal right now and standing on the verge of stardom. The 16-year-old from Grass Lake, Michigan is one step away from winning The Voice.

The high school athlete turned singing heartthrob learned his fate Tuesday night after another incredible semi-final performance of Brett Young's "In Case You Didn't Know" on Monday night. The show-stopping version landed Lape his spot in the Top 5 and moved him on to the finale of the popular NBC singing contest.

Lape has been a standout since his blind audition which landed him a spot on veteran judge Blake Shelton's team. Lape, a sophomore at Grass Lake High School not far from Jackson and sang Niall Horan’s “This Town” at the blind audition and has been impressing the judges and the viewers of the show since.

Veteran judge Blake Shelton has continued to praise Lape's voice and style and has been vocal about seeing a big future in music for Lape whether he wins the competition or not, and Shelton should know. Shelton is the winningest coach in Voice history have coached 8 singers to the top spot over 21 seasons.

Lape joins Bodie and Bryce Leatherwood, also from Team Blake, along with Morgan Myles, and  Omar Jose Cardona (with the Instant Save) for the finale.  The winner of The Voice will not only earn the title, but receive $100,000, and a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
