Lapeer East And West Let Residents Decide On Colors And Mascots After Merger [Video]

Longtime rivals Lapeer East and Lapeer West are in the odd position of merging the two schools together, which leads to decisions concerning what colors and mascot will represent the new school.

The district has decided to give the community the chance to decide what the new school will look like.  Will the blue and gold of West stay or the green and gold of East?  Maybe a combination of blue, gold and green will be the outcome.

As for the mascots, I think the answer is simple.

West Panthers + East Eagles = GRIFFIN!

If you live in Lapeer and want to vote on the new school, you'll have until the last week of school.
