If you traveled I-69 this morning, you may have noticed an increase in orange barrels along a good chunk of the highway in Genesee County. WNEM is reporting that MDOT is reconstructing eight bridges on I-69. The construction will slow you down as they work on ramps and bridges between Ballenger Highway and Fenton Road. Crews will also remove a foot bridge just East of Hammerburg Road.

The project will cost an estimated $34 Million and construction will go through November. According to reports, there will be only single lane closures during the repairs. As frustrating as the slow downs can be at times, I-69 has needed repairs for a few years now. Just think of how nice it will be in December.
