Driving on I-475 in Genesee County will be a little more challenging starting Monday, March 11th.

The construction is part of a $44 Million MDOT project on I-475. The work will mostly focus on lighting and signage upgrades. There will be some resurfacing, ramps and bridge work included in the project as well.

There will be some big changes for drivers though while the construction is being done.

The biggest is that SB I-475 will be closed at the I-69 interchange. Drivers will be detoured to SB I-75 along EB I-69.

NB I-475 will be reduced to one lane from Carpenter to Clio roads with some lane closures on Saginaw and Detroit streets underneath 475.

The work is definitely needed all along I-475, so make sure you plan for a detour on Monday morning.
