Man Who Broke Into Eminem's Michigan Home Gets Off Easy [VIDEO]

The man who broke into Eminem's Clinton Township home, telling him he was there to kill, him is getting a slap on the wrist. Matthew Hughes has been sentenced to probation and given credit for time served.

Eminem, whose name is Marshall Mathers, was home on April 5, 2020, when Hughes threw a brick paver through a window at about 4 am. Clinton Township police officers say the rapper awoke to a male standing behind him. He initially thought the man was his nephew but realized it was a stranger. He then asked Hughes why he was there and the intruder stated that his intention was to kill Mathers.

At the time of the crime, Hughes was charged with first-degree home invasion, a 20-year felony, and malicious destruction of a building, which is a five-year felony. Hughes has remained at the Macomb County jail since his arraignment.

Hughes has spent 524 days in the Macomb County jail. WDIV reports that Huges was sentenced last week in a Macomb County court under a plea agreement. He's been sentenced to five year of probation and given credit for the time he's already served.
