For the fifth straight year Michigan's population is up!

U.S. Census data released this week estimates the state of Michigan has gained 10,585 residents. This is up 0.1 percent to 9,928,300 as of July 2016.

Of course the increase in population was small compared to Texas which gained over 400,000 residents, Florida which went up 432,957 residents, and California which gained 256,077 residents.

Michigan ranks the 10th most populous state in the country in 2016.
