I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around the shooting at Oxford High School this past Tuesday, November 30th. Four innocent people were killed and seven individuals were wounded.

I will not be naming the shooter in this article, my decision is certainly not for his protection. His name and photo have been released. I prefer to shine a light on the victims, Hana St. Julian, Tate Myre, Madisyn Baldwin, and Justin Shilling.

As a community, we are mourning these teenagers. Their names and faces should never be forgotten. Just last night I saw an online petition in regards to having the Wildcat Football Stadium at Oxford High School renamed Tate Myre Stadium. Now that is a petition I one hundred percent support.

According to the Detroit Free Press, (and countless other media outlets), 16-year-old  Tate Myre, went toward the shooter in an attempt to disarm him. Tate's former football and wrestling coach went on to say that he was told the same thing by multiple students.

It literally takes less than one minute to sign this petition. If you choose to sign it, all you have to do is give a name and email address. You will then recieve a verification email. It is as simple as that. Full disclosure, you do have an option of making a monitary donation, but it is certainly not required. If you woul like to sign the petition to reanme the football field to Tate Myre Stadium, you can do so here.

My deepest condolenses go out to all of the victims families. Your children will never be forgotten.
