Fire ripped through Sharp Funeral Home in Swartz Creek late Wednesday night.

According to ABC12, the flames started just after 10pm Wednesday night. Fire fighters from multiple departments battled the flames until it was finally contained in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The owners hoped that the bodies stored inside a cooler would be protected from the fire. Fortunately they were all undamaged, and were transferred to other Sharp locations after the fire was contained.

There has been no cause listed for the fire, but investigators are still on the scene and the intersection of Miller & Fortino in Swartz Creek has just reopened for traffic.
