Southfield Babysitter From Online Service Accused of Sexually Assaulting Young Boy
A Southfield man that works for an online babysitting service is accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old boy that he was looking after.
Mark Baum, 36 has been charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. The charges come after he allegedly assaulted a 5-year-old little boy that he was babysitting this past weekend in Macomb Township.
It's very disturbing because this man had worked for the family one other time and claims to have 10 years of experience.

According to MLive, police were called to a home in Macomb Township around 8 p.m. Saturday after the parents were told by their son that the babysitter inappropriately touched him.
Not only did their 5-year-old son say that he had been touched inappropriately, but he was also backed up by an older child that was at the home as well and witnessed the incident.
What Online Service Did Baum Work for?
The online service that the man was employed through is care.com. This company provides someone to help with babysitting children, taking care of pets, or elderly parents.
I believe this is a company that many people trust and have used without incident.
I find it a little scary putting the trust of a stranger in your home to take of your kids but that's just me. I'm sure it works for a lot of people, just feels a little weird to me personally.
A lot of people on Facebook felt the same and also have trust issues:
And this is why I stay at home with my kid. Can't trust anyone these days. So sad. ~ Allison
This is exactly why we don't have date nights! And I'm ok with that!...only ppl I trust is family with my kids... ~ Veronica
I would never hire a babysitter online ~ Ted
Hopefully this man doesn't get another opportunity to work with kids again, if in fact he did what they're saying he did.
