The Tigers pulled off a trade before the deadline sending Alex Avila and Justin Wilson to the Cubs for Jeimer Candelario, Isaac Paredes, and cash or a player to be named later.

There was a ton of hype leading up to the deadline concerning a trade that would send Justin Verlander out of Detroit, but that never came to be.

With the trade, the Tigers get a little younger, and a little more money comes off of the bottom line.

Candelario is listed as the Cubs top prospect, and plays third base.  Paredes is a shortstop that is playing Class A ball in the minors right now.

This is definitely not the fireworks that some Tigers fans were hoping for, and will most likely have no effect on the rest of the Tigers season.

What do you think the odds are that the Tigers make the playoffs this year?
