‘You Are The Future’ Scholarship Application Period Now Open

College is expensive, but the 'You Are The Future' scholarship from Financial Plus Credit Union is offering up a little help.

Paying for college is no small task, so every bit of financial help you can get is a good thing. The problem is that most parents and students have a hard time finding the potential scholarships in time. That's why I think it's so cool that Financial Plus has their scholarship opportunity. It gives busy parents a chance to find some financial help from the place that already handles a lot of their money as it is.

Financial Plus is offering up two $1,000 scholarships for graduating seniors, or full time college students.

There are a few requirements that a student must meet to be eligible for the scholarship.

Student must be a Michigan resident
Student must be graduating in 2021 or a current college student
Student must currently be carrying a 3.0 minimum gpa
Student must be enrolled in an accredited college or university by July 9, 2021

The application period is open right now, and the process is pretty simple. The student needs to write a 500 word (or less) essay how the candidate will make a positive impact in our community. Then submit the application and essay with a copy of their current transcript and one letter of recommendation from a legal adult other than a relative. The application deadline is May 7th.
