A prison panel denied parole for mass murderer Charles Manson. This was Manson's 12th and probably final bid for freedom.

The parole board ruled that the 77-year-old mass murderer had shown no effort to rehabilitate himself and would not be eligible for parole for another 15 years.

It didn't help Manson's case that one of his prison psychologists was a member of the panel.

Manson recently said to him:

"I'm special. I'm not like the average inmate. I have spent my life in prison. I have put five people in the grave. I am a very dangerous man."

The panel agreed with that statement.
