A Northern Michigan man decided that love was stronger than the law and the wall of the Kalkaska County jail.

Derek Lavis drove his Suburban to the jail and repeatedly backed into the wall in an effort to free a woman being held there.  A Kalkaska corrections officer heard the noise and ran outside only to see Lavis drive away.

The situation is funny, but very serious as Lavis is still on the loose and considered armed and dangerous.  If I weren't so busy laughing at the YouTube comments (pictured below), I'd be very concerned.

Only in Northern Michigan could something like this be posted on YouTube and both the neighbor and son of the suspect comment!
