Three Sexton High School students were shot today in a neighborhood near the high school.

All three were taken to Sparrow Hospital with injuries, said Lansing police Public Information Officer Robert Merritt. Officials at a news conference this afternoon said the injuries to the three students are not life-threatening, and said the students are ages 14, 15 and 17.

The students were new to the school this year, said Bob Kolt, a spokesman for Lansing schools. Witnesses said two boys and one girl were shot.
