Construction has begun on a new Early Childhood Learning Center in Flint, located on the Durant Tuuri-Mott school campus.

The project is slated to open next Fall, and will serve more than 200 Flint children.

The $9 Million price tag for the new center was covered by The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.

The center will provide educational services to the community with the help of the GISD, but will also serve another purpose.  U of M Flint will collect data to help policy makers understand what works best when it comes to early childhood development.

In total the center will have 18 classrooms and several community rooms spread throughout the 36,000 square foot facility.
