Warm up your vocal chords because American Idol auditions are coming to Michigan for the first time in six years.

The Idol crew will be making a stop in Detroit next week to find contestants for the upcoming season. The audition will be at TCE Center, formerly Cobo Center, on September 10th. The auditions will start at roughly 9am, and last until the last golden ticket is given out.

You can preregister online here, and get all of the requirements for auditioning.

The last time Idol came to Michigan about 8,000 people showed up to Ford Field hoping to become a star. One of them actually did, as Jena Irene from Farmington Hills actually finished second.

There are only two more audition dates after the Detroit audition. If you miss your chance in Detroit, you might be able to jump in on the last audition in Chicago on the 21st.
