Amir Hekmati, a former Marine from Flint who was imprisoned in Iran for more than four years, met with his family for the first time today in Germany.

Joining the Hekmati family was Congressman Dan Kildee who had been advocating for Hekmati's release from an Iranian prison since being elected in 2013. According to Kildee's office, they were able to spend about 15 minutes together.

News of Hekmati's release came on Saturday. He was one of four Americans freed as part of a prisoner exchange with the U.S. and Iran.
