Congress is about to leave for a six week vacation starting on Friday, and Congressman Dan Kildee is working hard to include Flint into a funding package before the break.

You can see the complete transcript of Kildee's speech to Congress here.

Kildee urged the House to at least vote on a bill that passed the Senate by a huge 95-3 majority.  He spoke very sternly to the members of the house saying,

Let me just make this clear, the United States Senate voted 95-3 to provide support for the people of Flint. And yet, nothing here in this House.

Kildee has been on the front lines of the battle for funding for the Flint Water Crisis since day one, and shows no sign of slowing down.

So will his words for Congress carry any weight?  We will have to wait and see if they decide to at least take up the measures.  One thing is sure though, Kildee layed down the law with his final statements in his speech.

We ought to act and we ought to do it now. Not maybe three months from now. Not, oh Flint, maybe we’ll get you in the next bill, maybe the next piece of legislation. Shame
