The Detroit Pistons have made a big splash in the free agent market by signing Atlanta Hawk all-star Josh Smith to a four year deal.

Smith had a career season last year with the Hawks, and the Pistons hope that he will bring those kind of numbers to The Palace.

The Pistons have missed the playoffs in the last four seasons, and it seemed like they needed to make a big move to fix that.  The $56 Million dollar price tag that Smith comes with, will all seem worth it if Detroit can make a return to relevancy.

The announcement came shortly after Dwight Howard announced that he would be signing with the Houston Rockets.  If you aren't an NBA fan, and are wondering what Smith is capable of, check out the highlights of his career best game against the Pistons last season.
