Dreadlock Mike was more than just a bum on the streets of Detroit, he had a lot to share with the world but just never got the chance. Now thanks to a local filmmaker his story can finally be heard.

A couple of weeks ago we all heard the news of the death of two of the most famous homeless men ever “Eat Em Up Tigers” guy and Dreadlock Mike. Both were tragically killed in a hit and run accident. This incident had a huge effect on young Detroit filmmaker, Colin Duerr who was quietly working on a documentary about the homeless people in Detroit.

Colin had interviewed Dreadlock Mike a few years ago, and with the news of his death he felt compelled to finish it. Colin edited it into a short documentary about Dreadlock Mike, telling the story and message of Michael Alston a.k.a Dreadlock Mike for the way he should be remembered.
