Dollar General Will Dedicate An Hour of Shopping For Senior Citizens Only
Dollar General stores around Michigan are going to dedicate their first hour of business to elderly shoppers.
This is in an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible from the spread of the Coronavirus. The store said in a press release that they are making the move to help keep their customers safe.
Dollar General is strongly encouraging that the first hour of operations each day be dedicated solely for the shopping needs of senior customers, who are one of the groups most vulnerable to the COVID-19 coronavirus. In keeping with the Company’s mission of Serving Others, Dollar General wants to provide these at-risk customers with the ability to purchase the items they need and want at the beginning of each day to avoid busier and more crowded shopping periods
The first hour of the day makes perfect sense, because it gives the employees a chance to wipe down the store the night before. There may be some variation from store to store, so you'll want to check with your specific location.
This is just one of the small, but impactful moves that businesses all over the state are making.
Obviously there won't be a bouncer at the door of your local Dollar General, but please respect the senior shopping hour for the safety of the people who need it most.
