The $3.2 billion program is part of the $900 billion December pandemic-relief package. I love the idea of giving away these mini internet stimulus packages. The world is very much wrapped up in the internet. Everything we do from going to school, to ordering food, everything is now used via the internet. But for those that live in low-income households, the internet can be more of a luxury than a necessity. I know because I came from a low-income household and when times got rough, we just focused on staying warm and eating for the day.
I hope this program lasts at least until the end of the year. That way more families get that little bit of help that could make a major difference in the long run.
