Flint & Genesee Group Start The ‘Our Town’ Gift Card Match

It's the season for giving and the 'Our Town' gift card match program is the perfect way to stretch your shopping a little further.

Consumers Energy is helping the Flint & Genesee Group again this year with the Our Town promotion. The idea is that when you buy a gift card from any of the local participating businesses, you'll get another gift card from another local business.

That means you can double your gifting money, or maybe get a gift card for a friend, and then gift one to yourself as well . . . we're not judging you.

I know it sounds a little too good to be true, but it's actually pretty simple. Anytime you buy a gift card from one of the participating businesses, you'll get a matching gift card from another participating business. The only catch is that the max you can get is a $50 gift card, and there is a limited amount, so it's on a first come first serve basis.

The Flint & Genesee Executive Director talked about what the program means in a press release.

This is a great way for shoppers to stretch their dollars while also supporting the outstanding locally owned businesses in our area during the holiday season

The program is supported by a $30,000 grant from Consumers Energy, and they have helped to support the same Our Town program in communities all around Michigan.
