The Flint Repertory Theatre is back! The Rep is bringing live theatre back to the area in a new re-imagined way this summer.  The new summer season be called “Flint Rep Outside!

What's Flint Rep Outside?

The Rep has been working hard during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic to find a way to bring the excitement of their live productions back. The goal was to bring what they do best directly to the community eager for entertainment. They were able to develop  an exciting filled calendar of events this summer that will find The Rep "out and about" the local area.

What's on Tap?

Thanks to an incredible partnership with the Flint Public Art Project. The Repertory Theatre will be presenting Flint Mural Plays. The Rep will combine performance with some of the incredible art around the city. They have commissioned 25 new micro audio plays from some of the most renowned and exciting playwrights in the country to bring the arts outdoors. It will also include works from University of Michigan Flint student playwrights Taylor Boes, David Guster, Olivia Maxwell-Cook, Andrea Orpinel, and Enrique Vargas. The plays will be connected in a corresponding way with a different murals located around the city of Flint.

“This exciting and ambitious new programming is all outside of the box and our building,” producing artistic director Michael Lluberes said in a news release. “During the pandemic, we’re looking for ways to translate our work into new mediums and bring theatre directly to the community.”
