Student count day is essential for schools funding, and Flint schools fell short of their projected numbers by 155 students.

Superintendent Larry Watkins is surprisingly pleased with the small number, even though it will cost the schools around one million dollars.  Watkins was quick to point out that the Flint schools had been losing thousands of students in prior years, so this wasn't as hard to handle.

The biggest challenge for the district now is they will have to restructure the deficit elimination plan to account for the loss of funds.

So we have to ask the question again, is this the start of a rebound for Flint Schools?
