Former Toronto mayor Rob Ford who gained international headlines by admitting that he had smoked crack has passed away. Mayor Ford passed away earlier today (March 22nd) after fighting a 2 year battle with malignant liposarcoma which i sa rare form of cancer.Rob Ford is the son of a millionaire and a very controversial figure.
When you mention Rob Ford, public drunkenness and his belligerent clashes with other public officials usually are the first things that comes to mind.
The former mayor's family described him as "A dedicated man of the people, Councillor Ford spent his life serving the citizens of Toronto,".
He could not run for re-election as mayor in 2014 due to his cancer diagnosis, but won a city council seat in a landslide result.
