One of Michigan's hottest tourist destinations is returning to normal a little at a time. Now the famous Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge is ready to once again welcome guests to Little Bavaria.

According to the lodges Facebook page, the hotel which temporarily closed amid the COVID-19 pandemic, is preparing to reopen to guests on starting Wednesday, July 1. The announcement was accompanied by a picture of the staff wearing masks and let guests know, "Our staff will be prepping our hotel and implementing our new safety and sanitation plan to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit!"

“We welcome everyone to come and enjoy and have fun with us. We’ve missed everyone. We’ve missed our team members and we’ve missed our guests,” said Martha Zehnder Kaczynski, vice president of sales and marketing at Bavarian Inn Lodge. “All of Frankenmuth is opening back up and we welcome guests that feel comfortable in visiting us.”

According to reports, the swimming  pools will remain closed along with the arcade, putt-putt golf and buffets still on hold to reopen right away. Guests will notice furniture spaced apart for social distancing, plexiglass at check-in between staff & guests, and of course the staff will be wearing face masks. Extra care will be given to sanitizing and cleaning of the lodge.

“We are taking all of the precautions, plus some, because we don’t treat our guests just as customers, you are our family and that is very important to us," Zehnder Kaczynski said. “The safety of our team members and our guests, that is our No. 1 priority.”

Frankenmuth, like most tourist attractions throughout the state, is gradually reopening their businesses after months of being closed. Both the Bavarian Inn & Zehnder's have reopened to dine-in customers recently. Bronners Christmas Wonderland also reopened their doors on June 10th. The Fortress Golf course is open daily for play, but the Splash Village Water Park remains closed at this time.
