November is the month for food, and this year it means more than ever to get out and help those in need. With food donation organizations giving out supplies at double the rate this year due to COVID-19 it's more important than ever to help out your fellow neighbor.  So when I heard that these local Flint legends are coming together to help the city I jumped on the opportunity to help!

So far just over 100 turkeys have been collected and more are on the way. We expect a huge turnout so make sure you show up as early as possible! This will be the first collab-turkey giveaway between the former NBA star Morris Peterson and Boxing Champion/Superstar Claressa Shields, but I'm sure it won't be the last. Normally, Morris Peterson has his own turkey giveaway every year but the added support from the GWOAT and Flint's Mayor Sheldon Neely this year is making the event that much bigger! The event is also being sponsored by Bruce Leach, of Bruce leach law one of the owners of Sweetleaf which is a provisioning center that serves both medical and recreational marijuana on a state level.

The food giveaway will be happening at 400 S. Dort Hwy starting at 1 p.m. in the Sweetleaf parking lot. The turkeys will be first come, first serve. Until supplies are gone.
