More often than not, lottery winners wish to remain anonymous. However, that is not the case here.

According to the Michigan Lottery, Dina Russell purchased the winning ticket at Borders Corner Store in Mt. Pleasant.

Russell found out she won $25K a year when she stopped to purchase another Lucky For Life Michigan Lottery ticket.

I pulled up to the gas station to purchase a ticket, but before going in, I checked the Lucky for Life ticket I had in my purse by scanning it on the Lottery app. When $25,000 a year for life came up on the screen, I was thrilled!

Dina Russell chose a one-time lump sum payout of $390,000. The lucky Flushing woman plans to share the money with her kids, buy a new car, and save for retirement.

Winning the Michigan Lottery would be a dream come true for most people. That was not the case for Jay Sommers of Mt. Clemens. He claims winning the lottery ruined his life.

Things went bad for Jay Sommers when he let a high school friend, John Paganes, talk him into handling his money. If you ever get lucky enough to win the lottery - be smart and be careful who you trust.

Winning the lottery should be a blessing, not a curse.
