What Michigan Air Shows Are Ranked the Best in America?

It's no surprise to see two of Michigan's biggest events battling it out for the top spot on the list of Best Air Show of 2024. Both offer heart-stopping aerial acrobatics, thunderous flyovers, and jaw-dropping stunts and an unforgettable experience for aviation enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike.

"Battle Creek Field of Flight, a mid-summer event in Michigan, is an air show and balloon festival rolled into one — the largest of its kind in North America. For five days, spectators enjoy air shows of military and civilian aircraft, a twilight and night air show (among the largest in the nation), fireworks, concerts, a carnival, and hot air balloon launches", USA Today said.

The second show in the running for the top spot is Thunder Over Michigan Air Show in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The show is held at Willow Run Airport and kicks off July 20th for a major weekend of fun.

"Thunder Over Michigan Air Show is an annual summer event where visitors can get up close with numerous vintage and modern planes and enjoy stunning aerial performances from the likes of the U.S. Air Force F-16 Demonstration Team. Attendees can even hop in the seat of a B-25 Rosie's Reply, UH-1H Huey Greyhound, or B-17 Yankee Lady for a flight", USA Today wrote.
