With the year starting off with a ton of violence parades like this are needed more than ever. Violence has become the norm in certain areas around Flint. I don't know if social media is playing a big part in the separation of reality, but I do know that kids in Flint have little to no respect for life.

Being from Flint I hear a lot about all the violence that goes on. I get tons of insider info on the streets and the sad reality is that the majority of violence in the city is being done by the younger generation. I feel like this is a direct cause of enforcing a negative culture in the black community. Why do we focus so much on the negative? Why do we sing and celebrate violence in our music? Why aren't we as prosperous as other communities? It's because we don't have guidance. This is why parades like this are so important. To let people know from the area that reality isn't a game, and your life is valuable.

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
