As a matter of fact a 16-year-old girl was recently rescued in Kentucky after she used the hand gesture to indicate she was in trouble. The unidentified girl was in a vehicle with her kidnapper when she signaled another person on the road with the hand gesture. Thankfully, the other driver knew what the viral signal meant - I need help or a domestic violence situation.

I will now refer to the other driver as a hero. The hero then called 911 and followed the vehicle until authorities caught up to them. How amazing is that? One simple hand gesture saved this girl.

When I was a kid, we were simply instructed to not talk to strangers, or if approached by a stranger - run. Sure, those are good tips, but so is knowing this hand gesture. Not all captors are strangers though. If you are a parent of young kids, this is so easy to learn - teach them now.

As far as the girls captor goes, he is behind bars. James Herbert Brick, 61, was arrested and charged with unlawful imprisonment and possession of a matter of sex performance by a minor over 12 years of age but under 18 years of age.
