Grand Blanc, Frankenmuth, and Corunna all hoisted District Championship trophies this weekend.

The high school playoffs march on as the field was cut in half once again, and now the District Champions turn their focus on to regionals. That has to be the hardest part of the playoffs for the players and coaches. Imagine winning a district championship, but only having a few hours to celebrate before you have to turn around and get ready for the regional game next week.

I would imagine that the players at Grand Blanc, Frankenmuth, and Corunna would not have it any other way.

Who are the local District Champs?

Grand Blanc kept their perfect record alive by beating Howell 49-28. This was only the third district championship in football for the Bobcats.

Grand Blanc will face their toughest test of the season when they take on undefeated Rockford this Saturday. The game is in Rockford this Saturday with a 1pm kickoff.

Frankenmuth

Frankenmuth is no stranger to district championships, as this is their 5th championship in the last six years. The Eagles beat Swan Valley 37-7 last weekend to advance to regionals.

Frankenmuth will stay at home for their regional game against Kingsley. The two teams will kick off this Saturday at 1pm.

Corunna

Corunna took down a tough Amada team 20-8 last weekend to win their district championship. Now Corunna has a tough regional game this weekend as they take on undefeated Marine City.  The regional game will happen at Marine City this Friday at 7pm.

We'll be rooting for Grand Blanc, Frankenmuth, and Corunna this weekend as they try to get one step closer to Ford Field. You can see the entire regional schedule from the MHSAA here.
