More Adult Kids Are Living With Their Parents Than Ever Before
A struggling economy, lack of jobs and no money are all major factors in the fact that more adult kids are living with their parents than ever before.
While the number is at an all time high, there is a specific group of young adults that the number has actually gone down.
The number of young adults ages 20 to 34 who lived with their parents jumped from 17% in 1980 to 24% in 2007-09.
The rise was sharpest among those under 25 with a new high of 43% vs. 32% in 1980!
The only segment not affected were young adults with graduate degrees. So if you were on the fence about going to college, take a look at your parents and ask yourself if you want to be sleeping next to them when you're 25.
