First let me say that the message of the commercial is spot on. Most childhood death is preventable, and people need to be aware of some necessary precautions.
Was this commercial the best way to inform people about them, and was it the best timing? Well, here we are still talking about it, so maybe it was. It was definitely a buzzkill for anyone enjoying the Super Bowl commercials up until then.
The internet gave the Nationwide kid the meme treatment that he deserved afterward though. The one that pretty much broke the internet though refers to the Super Bowl's amazing ending.
