Looks like weather delays will force Michigan road workers to keep northbound I-475 closed until the spring of 2020.

The Michigan Department of Transportation has released a statement saying that "significant weather delays" have stalled the progression of the road project. The construction project on I-475 northbound began earlier this summer causing a good chunk of it to be closed. After all of the rainfall in the spring and summer and winter-like conditions in November, that stretch of the highway will remain closed until spring.

The $44 million project on I-475 began in August of 2018 and was supposed to be completed this month. Due to weather delays and soil sampling for PFAS, we will have to deal with the detours for just a bit longer. Crews will resume work on or after May 4th, 2020 and hope to have that stretch of the highway open by July 1st of next year.
